ABOUT RUTH

Ruth’s attitude and background have led her across many broken roads to get to this day. Born to parents from Alabama, she grew up in Molino, FL; a rural town north of Pensacola, FL. Ruth is the only one of seven children to obtain a college degree (BS-UF-1985 – Microbiology). She married in Atlanta, GA and has two sons; Alfred and Alimayu. She became a Master Electrician before moving to Alabama in 2005. Ruth is a Solar Trainer with the Department of Energy’s Solar Instructor Training Network and also an Inaugural Student of the Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Justice Academy. Ruth is passionate about energy and the environment, and hopes to make power affordable to all Alabamians. She advocates for: self-sufficiency, controlling inflation, small government, environmental justice, energy independence, women’s rights, veteran’s rights and constitutional rights. Ruth will work hard to ensure the integrity of our elections, and she believes in the paper ballot as well as voting receipts, which can be tracked.

We must focus on community, and strengthening our families. There are many reasons for this being called “SWEET HOME ALABAMA”; from football to Nascar, to Lake Martin and the Gulf Coast beaches, mountains, rivers and streams. We have the foundation for a great life for all of Alabama.

Let’s fix what is wrong together:

1.  Alabama is the sixth poorest state.

2.  We currently have a politicized and weaponized two-tiered justice system that fuels mass incarceration.

4.  Our farmers are losing margins. We must protect small family farms and farmers’ rights to grow/breed.

5.  We must strengthen our economy through entrepreneurship, technology and keep our educated citizens in our state.

6.  We MUST end Corruption. Ruth witnessed this firsthand, when she attempted to build a green jobs training center in Dothan, AL and the building was burned down in 2014.

Since that time, Ruth has continued to advocate for her community, as well as working as an electrical contractor, solar and environmental trainer.
